Moonveil. Is Moonveil still good 2023? Is Moonveil Katana still viable? Been planning on making my build around this weapon when I start my new save file but read that it was nerfed, is it still a good weapon? Absolutely. It’s damage is still the same, it just takes an extra weapon art attack or two to break enemy posture.Moonveil is one of the best int scaling weapons in the game. Thanks. That’s what I was thinking. It’s a nice weapon to have for a mage/spell blade build. If you upgrade it and go dual katanas with any other katana the moonveil is good lots of damage and bleed build also the weapon art is pretty good. Moonveil remains one of the better weapons in the game too. It's basically better than using actual spells 4 times out of 5. People saying it's been "nerfed to hell" are exaggerating. You will literally use its ash more than your will spells. It's still one of the best choices for an INT/DEX build.

Jun 23, 2022 · The Moonveil Katana’s stat requirements are 12 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 23 Intelligence to wield. Those are fairly normal for a high-tier weapon, and there’s good scaling off both INT and DEX. Obviously in pvp it’s still alive and well. Maybe at the higher end it’s better in pve but so far at lower levels it’s underwhelming. I can’t even use it to level anymore. It doesn’t even stagger regular gate front knights. I'm pretty sure the only thing that changed with Moonveil is that it's poise damage was slightly decreased in PvP only . Should be exactly the same in PvE. Also, a ton of weapons had poise damage nerfed in PvP, not just katanas. So, effectively, most weapons weren't really nerfed. It's more like poise got a buff, as well as a few weapon classes ...It's one of those weapons that's a noob trap, imo. People get stuck on using the ranged attack as a crutch, while the actual katana moveset is extremely versatile and is, in tandem with the ranged attack, the key to being really skilled with it. In other words, it's a low skill floor, high skill ceiling weapon.
