what i’ve realized what makes alcoholism such a crazy disease over some others (not saying they dont) alcohol at least where i live is constant. alcohol is always there. nothing in life lasts, jobs, relationships, time on earth but alcohol is the only steady rock in this constant chaos of lifePersonally, I chose to quit drinking because it negated the effects of Prozac. I had to choose between my meds working and not being depressed or alcohol. It was hard at the time, but I don't regret it. Sober for 3 years now. My drinking experience on prozac made me stop taking prozac as a whole.I started taking Naltrexone right at a week ago, taking 25mg the first 3 days and then 50mg the past 3 days. I noticed pretty quickly that the obsessive thoughts about alcohol & the cravings that I had been having were mostly gone right away. But when Friday came (my usual binge night) I started thinking of drinking again.
