Every time the WD-easystore 8TB drives go on sale at Bestbuy for $129.99 I will grab one or two. Currently I've got 4 so far. I just now noticed that Microcenter has the WD Elements 8TB drives on sale for the same price. My question is are the Easystore and Elements drives the same or similar enough to be used in a hardware raid array? The biggest difference between the WD Elements and My Passport drives is the ability to create volumes that are protected by a password. The Western Digital Elements drive will not let you do this and the Western Digital My Passport will.
