Jan 12, 2021 · For over 10 years, from the minute I woke up in post-op after TVH, I have used the Vivelle Dot hormone patch (Novartis brand name). This week my new insurance filled it with the Sandoz authorized generic estradiol patch. I tried it for the first time 2 days ago and have had hot flashes (in middle of freezing winter temps!!) the past 2 nights. Hysterectomy: May 6th, 1999. Surgery Type: TAH. Ovaries: Removed both. Vivelle-dot and weight gain. Weight gain isn't necessarily from the hrt, but from a hormone imbalance. Too much or too little can cause weight gain. It is all about balance.
