A friend of our daughter who owns a number of guns, but no XD's hands me his Glock 19 the other day to 'see with I think'. OK, fair enough, so today I'm off to the range with his Glock 19 and my XD9 Service. They are basically the same size and capacity. The grip on the XD is just a tiny bit longer, hardly worthy of mention.The biggest difference between the Glock 19 vs SIG P229 firearms is the firing methods; the Glock is striker-fired and the SIG is hammer-fired. This is the main difference when it comes to triggers and gives two very distinct triggers. Personally, the Sig P229 is a better gun out of the box.
