Honestly for a DIY project the stock would be the least of your issue. I'm mostly worried about the receiver. Unless you're building it from scratch I don't see what you could use that resembles the SKS. The M14 gearbox likely works for the internals, but externally? Nope.

This is a dumb question but I’m just curious. It’s possibly produced in Russia for civilians still, I would guess that Molot has one of the most recently produced models. To my knowledge SKSs we’re never made for the civilian market, maybe modified for them but they are and have always been milsurp rifles.
