The heat problem is the heat that is directed at the rider when in stop and go traffic and the fan comes on. I had a 1500 and the clutch retaining spring needed replacement at about 30k miles. I found a "how to" on the internet, and did it myself for about $35.00. This was on a 2000 year model. Had a friend who had a '98 (the green 2 tone) Nomad. On some early 1500's, Kawasaki tried a non-metal gear to run the oil pump.
