Secret Societies is probably my favorite of the modes. It's just some extra bonuses that obviously synergize with certain civs and strategies but they could all work fairly well with any civ. Heroes is fun but makes the game too easy. A human player can much more effectively use the heroes than the AI. Monopolies is the same.
