At 6 - 8k rpm you should have 14-15volts. Anything else with a good read on the stator means the regulator is bad. 1995 VN800A.Check for oil around the spark plug cavity and then explore this further. On the 1500, the service manul says a special tool is need to pull the spark plug tubes, but you can fashion a tool out of the rear axle nut and unscrew the tube. I'd bet the 800 is similar. I will say that it is a great addition to this machine. Shortly afterward, I started smelling gas and the leaking from the carb only got worse. I pulled the tank jsut to look, but backed off the carb.

Pin 3B: Lead for 2nd accessory. Pin 4: Black/Yellow wire to fan switch, grounds the fan relay. Pin 5: Blue wire, switched side of the fan relay, powers the fan.
