Nearly 40 years ago, I bought the original Van Dykes bird flesher. It has a 1/15 HP Dayton motor that spins at 1550 rpm. Worked on everything from teal to foxes and otters. Never tried to overload it, kept 3 grades of wire brushes and always used them doubled up. I use my bird flesher for fleshing coyotes and smaller. I also use my 1/2 hp bench grinder to flesh turkeys, about 15 minutes and you are done. Anyhow there are several methods to flesh NONTYPICAL WAYS. You can flesh very well with a Curriers knife, it can also be very faster.
