Like JSMetalcraft says above "A JD20c hydraulic oil can be used in the front Hilliard unit". But I personally would use Demand Drive fluid when you can get it.

Alot of people say only use POPO fluid for the front diff which is BS. I have 10000 miles on my X2 and 8000 miles on my XP with these exact fluids. My Subaru takes some "special" synthetic gear oil only available in 75W90. Not that hard to find but it's at least double that of regular GL-5 gear oil. But the rear differential takes GL-5 80W90 regular oil. Just like the front differential on a Polaris uses GL-5 80W90 non synthetic.
