the shift actuator on the top controls th clutch for gears 1, 3, and 5. the one on the bottom controls 2,4,6 and reverse. the tcm also has two motors that control each of the shift drums. usually the shutters are from 1st to 2nd gear which could be one of the shift actuators or the shift drum motors on the TCM. most of the time the drivability issues come from the tcm.Outrageous! 1400.00 for 2 $80.00 actuators installed that are on the outside of the transmission .
