George Matsakis joined the Mean Green football program as its coordinator of football operations in August of 2018. A 20-plus-year veteran of collegiate athletics, Matsakis most recently spent the 2016-17 seasons as an assistant athletic director at Kansas under Dr. Sheahon Zenger, and was Zenger's assistant to the athletics director from 2014-15.It's not clear how the coaching carousel will affect UK but Mark Stoops will likely have at least one hire to make.
