I thought Gen 2 meant the newer LCP II. Ruger really messed up this thing. So many times you here someone talking about a LCPll and they are in fact talking about the LCP Gen 2 and vice versa. It is only nominally larger in size than the LCP and LCP II but has a superior trigger, real sights (front night sight), and a 10 round capacity with a flush fit magazine or 12 round capacity with the marginally extended magazine. It is still a pocketable pistol for just about anyone.
