You can only choose to do one or the other. For those who would prefer Serana without the major changes the SDA makes, there is the Serana Dialogue Edit mod. It resplices her lines to create new conversations, but it's done decently and it kept her personality more consistent with standard Dawnguard. It's worth a try. It's an amazing mod with a great amount of new dialogue and the VA is pretty decent.
