For a main it is better to not corrupt the bowfa. It takes 130 hours of constantly firing a bowfa to use up all the charges 2k crystal shards would have given. If you ever plan on selling the bowfa later, then corrupting is a waste of gp. You will have enough gp for a TBow before the 130 hours are up. Its usable sure and probably better than what you were using before. However without the crystal armour its really not the mini-tbow that you want it to be so I HIGHLY recommend going for the armour before using it.
