Here in Illinois, SKS prices seem to be higher and have always been higher then in some or most of the southern states. The Yugo SKS's around me, mainly the "unissued" Yugo's, seem to be going for anywhere from $75 -$150 more then what they were 2 years ago. And two years ago they were going for about $300 out the door.

It takes STANAGs though, so there are legal 10rnd 7.62x39 magazines out there. 2-2 1/2 " groups are the norm for a friend's Russian SKS at 100 yards. Many of the SKS barrels were chrome plated to resist corrosion. I've always found the SKS to be more accurate than the AK's. The 2" to 2 1/2" 5 shot groups with surplus ammo is common for SKS's in my experience.

They work better than any other mag he owns, and we were unable to get a jam or a FTF/FTE with the cheap ammo we were using.
