And baby's still in there at 39 weeks! Sometimes you can even progress (I've gone into early labor twice, only to have it stop abruptly) and that baby will STILL sit there.
Cervical checks may not be an indicator for labor but if you are dilated at all, I would celebrate because it gives you a jumps start when you do go into labor or choose to be induced!
