Yes, you could put a G17 barrel in a G19 slide, however it still wouldn't work because the nose of the slide has to impact the frame at the original location of the forward rails in order to cycle correctly. It would be .47" short of unlocking. 2. What about gen 4 guys. Please respond as I am not in the usa and these are hard to come by. You'd need to find a gen5 compatible frame for what you'd want to do. Gen 5 and Gen 3 share nothing in common. The Gen 5 used all coil springs in place of the leaf springs and the trigger bar spring. Locking Glock is 2 pins for the Gen 5 and 3 for the Gen 3. You will have to use Gen 3 lower parts.I suspect the slide width will be increased in the 20/21 Gen 5 frame, if they decide to go 2-pin.
