I went out to my car and found the fuse responsible for the shifter solenoid. The same fuse can also cut off power to the map light, dome light, the beeping sound when you leave the keys in the ignition and the doors are open.

When you press the brake there's a sensor that tells the sifter you have your foot on the brake and it's ok to release the truck from park to drive or reverese.
