Once you remove that hub then you can see the cam gear and pin. It might be fine, and your issue is just the hub in front of it. You should be able to pull that off with a puller.The duramax engine has a long history of breaking cranks at that location. This is so much of a common issue that people have created cam shafts with altered firing orders to try to remove the stress from that point on the crank. Plenty of stock trucks have broken cranks like this.If you have a pin shear off. (you will know it immediately). Do not drive the truck. Shut it off as soon as possible. Have it towed. Continuing to drive the truck wil allow the balancer to slip on the crank and it can play hell on the nose of the crank and the inside of the balancer. ….
